About ALU DAY ONE

We are ALU Day One,
the "Original Boots On The Ground" (OBOTG) for the Amazon Labor Union (ALU),  established at Amazon's JFK8 in Staten Island on April 20,2021.  ALU became the first successful union election win at an Amazon facility in US history, which was achieved on April 1, 2022. 

 "Day One" here, refers to those who started working on the very first day JFK8 opened its doors in September 2018. 

Our mission is to advocate for workers' rights and empower our members through education and solidarity. We believe in building a strong diverse community, supporting each other in achieving job security, fair wages, better benefits, safe working conditions, and secure "our first contract with Amazon" while providing resources to address the needs of the workers that would enhance their lives from 

Day One and beyond!
